A new face for a new Ajax

Ajax, Ontario- Monday, July 16th, 2018 - Carion Fenn of Ajax, President and Founder of the Carion Fenn Foundation, Host of Health 180 with Carion Fenn on Rogers TV Durham, and an Award-Winning inclusiveness and accessibility patient advocate, today announced her candidacy for Mayor of Ajax.

“Ajax is my home. It’s where I raised my family. It’s where I’ve built my Foundation. It’s where I’ve worked to build up health care and fight for the most vulnerable. And fighting for the people of our community — for their health, well-being and success — has become my passion. I hope to continue to fight for all of us as our new mayor.”

Carion is a Member of Lakeridge Health Board of Trustees, Board Quality Committee & Co-Chair Ajax Pickering Hospital Community Panel. She is an Accessibility Advisor to Town of Ajax Council on the Accessibility Advisory Committee. She was honoured as one of the 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women for 2018. She is also a Member of the Jamaican Canadian Association.

“I believe that by focusing on our people, our environment, and our economic development, we can lead Ajax forward. Ajax now more than ever needs a collaborative and open government. I believe I have the skills and abilities we need at this critical point in our history.”

“For me, Ajax represents hope — as it does for so many of us. Ajax needs to be a town where anyone and everyone has an equal opportunity for success. This is why I’m running for Mayor — to do my best make sure that no matter who you are, you have every opportunity to make your dreams come true, right here.”

“Ajax should always be a place where we can raise our children, safely, happily and with a sense of hope. After years of the same name in the Mayor’s Office, it’s time for a new face, new ideas and a real, positive change.”
